Oven Perfect’s Oven Cleaning Tips
* If you can, try to take the oven door off before you start cleaning your oven. Removing the door gives you better access to the shell of the oven and also makes it easier to clean the oven door itself. It is important to remember that it is not always possible to remove the oven door easily. If the oven door hinges are loose or rusted it’s best to leave these doors on. If you are unsure of how to remove the oven door then it’s best to use a professional oven cleaner
* Use a blade scraper. The blade can scrape off the fat and grease making your oven easier to clean. Beware that not all surfaces will be suitable for blades as they might scratch. Also, make sure you are confident using a blade and read our ‘Tips when using a scraper’ article before starting.
* Make sure you don’t get any product behind the back plate. This product, if not removed, can erode the oven’s heating element. An advantage of having your oven professionally cleaned is that the back plate will be removed to be cleaned in 95% of cases, ensuring the heating element isn’t exposed to any left over product.
