Do the doors of all ovens come off when you clean them?
Kristof cleans ovens every day in Newcastle and the Central Coast and there isn’t a brand of oven that he hasn’t come across over the last 4 years of oven cleaning. With all this oven cleaning experience comes knowledge of which oven doors can be removed and which oven doors shouldn’t be removed.
Some oven brands have doors that open to the side, typically there is no benefit to removing the side opening doors unlike ovens with doors that open downwards. If your oven door opens downwards, removing the door before cleaning the door and the shell of the oven is made much easier. It makes it much easier to clean all those hard to reach places when the door isn’t in the way.
However, in some cases the door hinges might have come loose or rusted and it is best not to remove the door in this instance as you may not be able to get the oven door back on.
According to Kristof, he can remove the oven door in 95% of cases to ensure a thorough oven cleaning job. If the oven door can’t be removed then your oven will still be cleaned and look like new after Kristof has finished, but Kristof’s job is made just a little bit harder.
